We founded Container Team Ltd. We had a container yard where we stored and serviced ambient and refrigerated containers. Our first employee was a refrigeration engineer, so we really have been keeping people cool for almost a quarter of a century.

The business was solely focused on containers, but we soon realised that not everyone needed that much extra space. We started looking at options and bought a couple of refrigerated trailers to see how they would work.

It turned out that there were a lot of people who wanted to be able to hire extra refrigeration now that a more versatile solution was available. We invested in some more trailers and founded Team Refrigeration.

Coolio was brought in as our Director of Cool to help us and our customers Stay Cool!

The fleet of trailers reached 10. We couldn’t have imagined how many uses they would be put to, from cold-conditioning prototype aircraft undercarriage parts to a beer cellar for a pop-up beach bar made from hundreds of tonnes of sand in a city centre.

Ricky Williams joined us to develop Team Refrigeration. We had identified more marketplaces that needed our services, but weren’t even aware that our solution existed. Ricky used his experience in customer service to set a new bar in the industry and make our solution known throughout the UK.

The uptake of trailer hire grew but there were still some people we couldn’t help; those that needed some temporary indoor cold space, for example. That’s where the coldrooms came in. Now we can supply custom-configured cold rooms nationwide and can solve almost every refrigeration problem.

We were introduced to the charity Gympanzees. We were so impressed with their dedication to Project Home that we decided to make them our inaugural Charity of the Year. Their mission is to open the UK’s first fully accessible exercise, play and social centre for disabled children and young adults. This will not only improve health outcomes but will also help to address the isolation faced by these children and their families.

The team enjoyed supporting and working with Gympanzees so much, we decided to keep them as our company charity and continue to support Project Home. The team have raised tens of thousands of pounds by climbing mountains, Dragon Boat racing, serving as a butler to their customers, making cakes and coffee, running 10ks to ultramarathons, with one person even having his (very hairy) legs waxed!

By now, the HQ team had grown and Ricky had taken on the role of Managing Director of Container Team. Steve Morris was recruited as Head of Team Refrigeration to continue growing the brand and delivering excellent customer service into the future.
