If you are suffering a fridge breakdown, the first thing to do in order to minimise your losses is to keep the doors shut to maintain the temperature inside the unit. The doors are well insulated and the unit will hold temperature for a reasonable time. Secondly turn off the lights too if possible – it’s surprising how much heat they give out.
